Deaf Student Sues Univ of Miss over captioning

University of Mississippi graduate Joshua Sisco has filed a lawsuit against the school because its social media are not closed captioned and neither are the monitors in the common areas of the school nor was the student TV newscast.

According to the lawsuit, his Chinese history class required students to watch videos which were not captioned. Despite complaints to the disability center, the school did not make changes, except adding captions to the student TV newscast.

Sisco, who was born deaf, was raise by his mother, who is also deaf. Sisco studied history at Ole Miss and graduated last year. His first language is ASL. You can read the lawsuit here.
