Deaf teen publishes her own American Sign Language book

A high school senior decided to write her own book after not seeing herself—a person of color—represented in sign language books.

Khyiana Tate hopes to change that with the publication of Signing with Khy. She told FOX-2 news:

"It's really important that Black and brown people are seeing ourselves in our books and our language because it gives us inspiration and it makes us happy to be who we are."
