The 70,000-square-foot, 158-bed dorm opened in 2017 and is used for the schools Model Secondary School for the Deaf. The suit is against Rockville, Maryland contractor James G. Davis Construction Corp. which defends its work on the project as something it is proud of.

The Gallaudet lawsuit complains of construction delays and issues after completion including uneven floors, drainage issues and cracks. You can read about the residence hall on Gallaudet's site here. There is more on the lawsuit here ($).
