Lawsuit: Officer shot multiple non-lethal rounds at a deaf man without warning
Tyree Talley is suing the City of Austin.
His lawsuit says he was shot many times with non-lethal rounds by a police officer while laying on the ground. It happened during a May 2020 protest. The suit reads:
“Officers also failed to follow protocol required and failed to utilize services available to the APD when interacting with a deaf civilian. No attempt was made by police to communicate to Tyree that he was required to clear the area.”
