On this date in 1875: A sports legend was born

Luther "Dummy" Taylor was born on this day (Feb. 21) in 1875.

Luther Taylor, who was known as Dummy Taylor, played fo the San Francisco Giants when they played in upper Manhattan and then the Kansas City Royals in the early 1900s.
