Deaf Actress joins Network TV show

The NBC medical drama New Amsterdam added a deaf doctor to its ranks in last night's season 4 opener.

Taking the role on the medical drama's season four premiere is Sandra Mae Frank. Some viewers will remember her from a role on Switched at Birth and from a memorable ASL performance of Fight Song on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist watch below). Frank first major role was in Deaf West’s Spring Awakening on Broadway. On New Amsterdam, she is playing Dr. Elizabeth Wilder, an accomplished and competent surgeon.
