The Big Read

As a part of Deaf History Month, RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf and local libraries are hosting the "Big Read."

The Big Read is highlighting the work of deaf poets Ilya Kaminsky in the Deaf Republic. The focus are:

Themes of language, power, and community in Deaf Republic, spotlights the history of deaf poetry in the US, and encourages people from diverse backgrounds to experiment with poetry as a means of expressing their own experiences of language, power, and community.
